"For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." Psalm 84:11
Testimony of Missionary Karla Ninoska Chavez..., Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America
My mother gave birth to me at the age of fourteen. I was born prematurely, deaf, and blind in one eye. My parents were not Christians, and many sad things happened that filled my heart with deep bitterness and sorrow. I thank God for sending Pastor Ray (who is deaf) and Anita Bradley to Ecuador, South America. God sent them to search for the people who were deaf. They started a church and a school for the deaf. When I was ten years old, God led them to find me, and I had no language. I had no way to communicate with people. In the church and school for the deaf, I learned to communicate. I was a rebelllious and bitter girl. God had patience with me. After learning about God and His son Jesus, I received Christ. As I grew spiritually, God healed my heart. Thank you, God!
Despite my struggles, I try to be faithful to God. After finishing high school, I went to the Bible Institute. Then I continued training at the school for the deaf. At the age of twenty-eight, I thank God for giving me the privilege of serving Him as a missionary. I am now a teacher at the school for the deaf. Also, I lead music with the deaf in church. Glory to God!
Pictures were enclosed of her teaching at the school.
An heir of God through Christ,
